Standard Odoo Manufacturing is built for office desks. The shopfloor needed something different: tablet-optimized, glove-friendly, and operable in 3 seconds between two work steps.
The brief
A 40-person production team was using paper work orders because the standard Odoo MO screen was too dense for a tablet and too slow to navigate between steps. Information existed in the system but never reached the line in usable form.
What we built
A dedicated shopfloor UI on top of Odoo Manufacturing — same data, different surface.
- Full-screen tablet layout, large touch targets, designed for gloved hands.
- One work order, one step at a time — no scrolling, no buried info.
- Plain-language instructions and photos pulled from the Odoo product record.
- One-tap step completion that pushes back to Odoo in real time so planning sees progress.
- Issue flagging that lifts a problem straight to the operations dashboard.
What it changed
Work orders now reach the floor in a form that doesn’t need translation. Paper disappeared and planning sees status in real time.

Under the hood
Custom Odoo module with a PWA frontend (offline-capable for short outages), pulls directly from Odoo Manufacturing records so no data is duplicated. Tablets are standard Android devices on the company Wi-Fi.
